It's been 7 years since I have grown my relaxer out and through the years I have experimented with many different styles.<br />
<br />
I got my first relaxer at age 12. After convincing my mother I finally got it done. I wanted "style versatility". Ha little did we know. Many years later I have to say that being natural has given me more versatility than I could have ever imagined. <br />
<br />
My earliest hair and fashion inspiration were these ladies here:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgpk20on3b2zsOp4sElgtqpyc-j28yfUrympXFRA9D-7WAF1DmFfEjwhdbVruRWiKe3HYbgz8VVAjHc-41oKx04AIpUx8zbUsfJzK2xxQNkd1beLui631B5pwVSlYO6pRRr6O5s90iDS0/s1600/salt-n-pepa1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgpk20on3b2zsOp4sElgtqpyc-j28yfUrympXFRA9D-7WAF1DmFfEjwhdbVruRWiKe3HYbgz8VVAjHc-41oKx04AIpUx8zbUsfJzK2xxQNkd1beLui631B5pwVSlYO6pRRr6O5s90iDS0/s200/salt-n-pepa1.jpg" width="182" /></a></div>Yes, Salt-N-Pepa. The Tramp, Ah Push It, Shake Your Thang Rap Duo. You don't know how hard I tried to get that scrunch puff on the side only to find out years later it was a weave! <br />
<br />
Well they are still my girls. Before I go any further I want to say that all hair is beautiful as long as it is well taken care of. I loved my relaxed hair and I love my natural hair. I just hated the touch ups (ouch) and my hair seemed to be brittle. Being frugal of course I did many touch ups myself. I started stretching the touch ups to the point where I would do them like 5-6 times a year. My pregnancy is really what got me motivated to quit relaxing. I fell off the wagon once after a good year but once I got back on I never looked back.polish20http://www.blogger.com/profile/09209549874354011336noreply@blogger.com0
